Music for viol consort and guitar

The programme highlights the period of the Spanish "Siglo d'Oro". In the transition from the 16th to the 17th century, all branches of the arts flourished in Spain in a particularly rich and diverse way. With virtuoso variations on well-known melodies of the Renaissance, the "Diferencias", instrumental dance movements such as Pavana, Galliarda and Pasacalles, and above all in the exhaustion of harmonic turns with countless dissonances ("Falsas") in the "Tiento", a preliminary form of the fugue, Les Escapades open the fan of an unknown world of sound. This Spanish cosmos is wonderfully complemented by the Catalan guitarist Maria Ferré.
